Aquatic Centre Refurbishment 2024

Rio Tinto is generously funding a $1.7 million project at the Weipa Aquatic Centre!

This project will bring about incredible enhancements, including:

• A newly refurbished plantroom featuring a state-of-the-art saltwater chlorinator.

• An extension of the toddler pool along with exciting additional splash pad features.

• Installation of new wet deck and plinth tiles around the 25m pool, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable swimming experience for all.

Please note that the Weipa Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed from the end of May to November 2024 to facilitate the completion of this project. Rest assured, we are working closely with the vendor to expedite the process and minimise any inconvenience to our community.
