Sport and Recreation
With around 35 sporting clubs and community groups to choose from, it is evident that the Weipa locals love their sport and recreation. Anyone wishing to take part in an activity will find plenty to choose from.
Our sport and recreation clubs provide enormous benefit to the community by contributing to the general health and wellbeing of individuals. Being part of a club helps build happier, healthier and more connected communities.
Sport and recreation directory
The Weipa Town Authority (WTA) maintains a directory of currently active sport and community groups, with contact details, and information about each activity.
While the Directory is updated annually, groups are encouraged to update their details as soon as there is a change in their circumstances, using the Sport & Recreation Contact Details Form.
