Major Refurbishment Currently Underway - Soft opening 8 October - 13 October 2024
The Weipa Aquatic Centre provides the community with a range of swimming facilities, including an 8-lane, 25m pool and a wading pool with beach access and water features for toddlers.
A qualified lifeguard is on duty during opening hours. The facilities are also used by the Weipa Junior Swimming Club and Weipa Learn to Swim School. To contact the Weipa Junior Swimming club or Weipa Learn to Swim School, use the Sport and Recreation Directory.
Picnic tables, BBQs and a large grassed area overlooking Albatross Bay provide a beautiful backdrop to the pool, making it a popular place for children’s birthday parties or gatherings. Facilities are free of charge during opening hours, on a first come, best-dressed basis.

The facility is open all year round except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day.
Children under the age of 12 must be actively supervised by an adult.

In the event of their being thunderstorms and lightning, please be advised that patrons may be requested to exit the pool and seek shelter in accordance with the Weipa Town Authority's Lightning Guidelines. The safety of our patrons is always our highest priority.
